There are 3 way that a wig can be attached:

  1. On and off -Braids or without braids (depending on the client’s hair length and the texture)

  2. Semi-permanent - braiding client’s hair and reinforcing with thread NOT GLUE OR ADHESIVE

  3. Semi-Permanent -braiding client’s hair - Wigs perimeter glued to clients hairline with Glue adhesive.

On and off installment:

  • When removing the wig at home, use T-Pins to store it on a wig head. This would maintain a nice shape, ready to wear before heading out.  It is recommended to get a wig head almost the size of your head so that the wig is not stretch.

  • The based of  the wig is where the hair is attached, this is very secure, however to avoid excess shedding or pulling, we recommend to comb the wig gently to avoid contact with the lace.

  • When washing your wig use (gentle hydrating shampoo), please place the wig on a mannequin head, wet the wig with cool water when shampooing.  Fill a small spray bottle with lukewarm water, add a tablespoon of shampoo. Distribute the shampoo throughout the wig, using a wide-comb to work through the hair. Rinse the shampoo with cool water.   It is recommended to dilute the shampoo to avoid product build-up.

  • Wash the  wig and your hair every week or every two weeks (depending on your lifestyle).

  • Use Low water-pressure on the wig in the shower. The based of the wig is where the hair is attached, this is very secure, however high-water pressure might stress the based of the wig

  • When washing your wig use a gentle hydrating shampoo and  cool water (Do not recommend very hot water temperature). Fill a small squeeze bottle with lukewarm water + 1 tablespoon shampoo mix it  gently and distribute this onto the scalp. Place fingers on the based of the wig and feel where the partition of the braids are and squeeze the bottle throughout. Gently rub the pad of your fingers against your scalp in an up-down motion. Do not put pressure, so that you

don’t stretch out the  wig. Remember to add shampoo to the mid section to ends as well, do not scrub the hair.

It is best to let the wig air dry and then style it the way you want to. Please note that timing is important, if you wash your hair at night, there would not be enough time for your own braided hair to dry, therefore doing this in the morning is best if you want to let it natural air dry (recommended).  Please note that all would depend on the the weather conditions.

  • Generally comb the wig very gently, off the lace base, brushing from the ends to the top

  • Use appropriate brushes for the wig

  • Don't wring your wing when getting the excess water off, the base might become misshapen and dry funny.

  • Avoid excessive pulling on the wig

  • Avoid excessive oil based product, since this can make your scalp very itchy.

  • Ensure to gently clean the perimeters of your hair, if the wig is attached using glue adhesive, the debris can accumulate on this area and make it darker.

Tips to avoid damages of your full lace wig while sleeping

Wrap hair into a satin or silk wrap, reducing frictions on your unit when you move your head in your sleep. It is recommended to use a pillow case in satin or silk for. To reduce greatly the tension and resistance between the two fabrics, avoid the occasional breakage and allows the hair to remain protected, while you sleep, you have to make sure that the pillow case MUST be the same material as your wrap. For instance, you should use a satin pillowcase if you wrap hair in satin.
